Los Romas y Sintos durante la migraci\u00f3n hemos admirado y respetado siempre la naturaleza, y en cuanto a los \u00e1rboles creo que nos han hecho mucha compa\u00f1\u00eda durante el viaje. El \u00e1rbol en s\u00ed representa para nosotros la vida, la dulzura, la protecci\u00f3n, la fuerza que crece. Cada \u00e1rbol es diferente, con su presencia viva y fuerte, como lo es la entrega para combatir el antigitanismo y la romafobia que siguen vivos en Europa. Hay una an\u00e9cdota de Carlo Stojika, un sobreviviente del Holocausto que dice as\u00ed: \u201cLos romas y sintos somos como las flores de esta tierra: nos pueden pisar, arrancar, gasar, quemar, matar\u2026 sin embargo, como las flores, siempre volvemos\u201d. Hay una gran verdad en estas l\u00edneas\u2026 as\u00ed que el \u00e1rbol se planta por diferentes razones: para recordar a Rukeli, un hombre, pero tambi\u00e9n la historia de un pueblo, 500.000 personas gitanas exterminadas en los campos de concentraci\u00f3n; es una manera tambi\u00e9n para tocar con las manos una p\u00e1gina muy tr\u00e1gica de nuestra historia, un medio para que los j\u00f3venes puedan sentir la belleza de la vida, en sus diferentes colores y formas. El objetivo es de plantar m\u00e1s \u00e1rboles, en diferentes escuelas. Cada \u00e1rbol es un s\u00edmbolo multifuncional que ayuda a no olvidar el pasado si queremos que el futuro florezca en el respeto mutuo y la paz.
